Fabulous Fabaceae Foliage

Remember, we're not using specific botanical terms in this tutorial. We're using common and accessible language that the average 10 year old can understand (and build upon). Let's enjoy this and not get bogged down in jargon. This is the first step, not your (or my) PhD.

Line down the middle, leaf on either side. See what I mean by 'line' and 'leaf'?





That's a quarter, for scale. Leaf size doesn't matter, nor how many times the foliage has the pattern.
