New Flowers (for me, anyway)

All photos by Matt Ball 3/30/2014

Pine-leaf Milkweed (Asclepias linaria), flowers and fruits, Rose 8

Abert's Buckwheat (Eriogonum abertianum), Rose 147 (fix page number on key)

Red (or Scarlet) Four O'Clock (Mirabilis coccinea), Rose 127
These were seen in Ventana Canyon, but they also bloom in Sabino Canyon.
If you don't already have Mountain Wildflowers of Southern Arizona, by Frank S. Rose, get a copy for yourself and any flower-loving friends.

  1. Cool. I had seen Pineneedle Milkweed at Tohono Chul Park but had just assumed it wasn't native.
